Italy.
The name conjures up images of historical sites, art, beautiful architecture, fashion, and food.
But Italy is so much more.
I recently travelled by car through Toscana, Lazio and Campania, and nothing could have prepared me for what I experienced. It was well beyond all my expectations. The scenery, the culture, the friendliness of the people, the architecture, and the food were all memories to store for a long, long time.
Come take a photographic trip with me through the rolling hills of Tuscany, with towns and villages perched on hilltops, historic names such as Pisa, Lucca, Siena, Cortona, Chianti (famed for it’s wines), then through Florence and experience it’s remarkable renaissance. Visit the imposing ruins of Rome on a grand scale, down to the coastal towns of Campania, with it’s famed Amalfi Coast.
Here, this time we see towns, not perched on hilltops, but built into cliff faces, seeming to be suspended there. A coastline that rivals any in the world. An almost death defying trip by car (if you are not a local), but catch the local transport, and mingle with the fascinating people of this region, and inhale the beauty of this remarkable place.
Italy does not disappoint.
Please enjoy.
